Cheesy Country Beef

  • 1 package RICE-A-RONIĀ® Country Cheddar
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 cups water
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped tomato (optional)
  • 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions (optional)

Preparation Steps

  1. In large skillet, cook 1 lb. ground beef or turkey until no longer pink; drain.
  2. Stir in rice, 2 cups water and 2 Tbsp. margarine; bring to a boil.
  3. Cover, reduce heat to low and simmer 18-20 min. or until rice is tender and most of water is absorbed.
  4. Stir in 2/3 cup milk and Special Seasonings. Increase heat to high; stir and cook 1-2 min. or until most of liquid is absorbed. Cover and let stand 3 min. Stir before serving.

Tips and Variations

  • Stir in 1 cup chopped tomato and 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions before stand time.
